ROUTES ASIA is the only event for the development of air traffic routes in the Asia-pacific region, where airlines, airports, travel agencies and other stakeholders in the aviation industry network and share best practices. It is a major event that helps build the future of aviation in the region.
Routes Asia 2023 was held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from February 14-16 2023, and more than 600 organizations including 104 airlines, 106 airports and 16 travel agencies participated in the event.
This is the first time Chinggis Khaan International Airport (CKIA) participated in Routes Asia since its opening in 2021. The Government of Mongolia has declared 2023 to 2025 as the “years to VISIT MONGOLIA” and many attractive events are planned in the country throughout 2023. In order to encourage travel between Mongolia and other Asian countries and subsequently increase international flights to CKIA, our staff members met and networked with several airlines at the event and engaged in promotional activities.
In addition to the networking event, an award ceremony was held to announce the best airports in the region. The awards were divided into three categories based on airport size (up to 5 million annual passengers, 5-10 million annual passengers, and over 10 million annual passengers), and our airport was chosen as one of four airports nominated for an award in the category of airports with less than 5 million passengers.
This event has been held in the Asia-Pacific region since 2003. ROUTES ASIA 2024 is planned to be held in Langkawi, Malaysia.
