The Prime Minister H.E. Mr. L.Oyun-Erdene, Minister of Road and Transport Development H.E. Mr. L.Khaltar, Minister of Construction and Urban Development H.E. Mr. B.Munkhbaatar, Minister of Finance H.E. Mr. B.Javkhlan, Ambassador or Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia  H.E. Mr. Hiroyuki Kobayashi , Head of Air Transport Policy Implementation Department of MRTD Ms. Ch.Munkhtuya, Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia Mr. L.Byambasuren, Director of National Civil Aviation Center Mr. P.Munkhjargal,  Executive Director of the Khushigiin Khundii Airport Sate Owned LLC Mr. L.Tsenguunjav, Executive Director of MIAT Mr. D.Battur, Head of Department of the Asia and The Pacific of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs  Ms. E.Sarantogos and other relevant authorized visitors visited "Chinggis Khaan" International Airport on 6th March 2021. Delegations inspected control tower, aircraft hangar, ‘One-Stop Service’ area and Passenger Terminal Building of the airport.   

Mr. Takeo Kato, CEO of NUBIA LLC, together with relevant Head of Departments introduced Passenger Terminal Building and explained the progress of preparation work such as tenant, business lounge, measures for COVID-19 and so on. He also made a presentation of progress of preparation work and major issues to be resolved before the commencement of operation of the new airport.

Emphasized briefs:

NUBIA LLC successfully conducted a full range of ORAT (Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer) test at the airport with cooperation with MIAT Mongolian Airlines and relevant government agencies in order to comply with safety and constant operational start of the new airport. Mr. Kato emphasized that to continue working to ensure safe and stable operation of the airport along with strict adherence to control infection regimes. He also explained to the Prime Minister the challenges and problems for the commencement of operation of the new airport.

Furthermore Mr. Kato said that NUBIA LLC is ready to collaborate in aspects of the policy issues with the Government of Mongolia and relevant ministries and government agencies include the opening of the border, relaunch of international flights, implementation on the necessary quarantine policy for the Covid-19 epidemic as well as expressed our readiness on cooperation of the development of tourism in Mongolia which is inextricable linked into the civil aviation sector.

The Prime Minister H.E. Mr. L.Oyun-Erdene emphasized the development of Aero city and relevant infrastructure  projects in Khushigiin Khundii Valley and said that Mongolia plans to reopen its border on 1 May, 2021 and expressed that all issues pointed out by NUBIA LLC will be discussed in the Cabinet meeting and solve the issues at the earliest possible.

When the new airport comes into operation, the runway utilization rate will be increased to 98%, which is higher than 73% of the existing airport, there will be more transit traffic and improved safety assurance with international standard services.
